Discipline & Review

In order to ensure a productive and rewarding track experience for each player in the Rise n Fly Track Club Competitive Program, the Club requires all players and parents to adhere to some basic rules and principles of the Club.  These rules and principles are set forth in the Club’s Player/Parent Agreement.  Although this Agreement does not cover all of the policies of the Club, nor does it address all potential issues, it does address a number of the core concerns and issues that arise at the Club each year.  Since the opportunity to play for the Rise n Fly Track Club is both a privilege and a responsibility, we require all players and parents to read and sign this Agreement each year as a condition to compete for the Club.

Procedure for Player Discipline

All players in the Rise n Fly Track Club are required to sign the “Rise n Fly Track Club

Player/Parent Agreement”.  Violations of the Agreement will brought before the Rise n Fly

Discipline and Review (“D&R”) Committee made up of the President, the Vice President

of Operations, the Vice President of Administration, the Director of Discipline and

Review, and the Director of Coaching for review and action.

In the event that a player is ejected from a contest for unsportsmanlike behavior and/or

violates the Player/Parent Agreement, and/or engages in behavior at practices or games

that the Coach deems inappropriate and detrimental to the team and/or Club, the Coach

may take any of the following actions:

  • Immediate removal of the player from the practice or the game for inappropriate behavior. Refer the matter to the D&R Committee for review and possible sanction.

  • If the child is ejected from a contest and/or violates the Player/parent agreement the matter will be referred to the D&R Committee. The D&R Committee will then investigate the matter and come to a determination as to what, if any, additional sanctions are required. These may include but are not limited a warning, suspension, probation, and /or dismissal from the Club.

The Discipline and Review procedures will be addressed by the D&R Committee. These

procedures will be in accordance with all state and/or local guidelines for participation,

promoting the mission and values of the Rise n Fly Track Club.  In all cases, the decisions of the D&R Committee are final and not subject to appeal.

Procedure for Parent/Guardian Discipline

All parents or guardians of players in the Rise n Fly Track Club are required to sign the

“Rise n Fly Track Club Player/Parent Agreement”.  Violations of the Agreement will

brought before the Rise n Fly TC Discipline and Review (“D&R”) Committee made up of the President, the Vice President of Operations, the Vice President of Administration, the

Director of Discipline and Review, and the Director of Coaching for review and action.

In the event that a parent violates the Player/Parent Agreement, or engages in behavior

at practices or games that the Coach deems inappropriate and detrimental to any of the

players, officials or the team as a whole, the Coach may take any of the following

actions:

  • Immediate removal of the player of that parent from the practice or the game.

  • Remove the offending parent from the practice or game sideline. The matter is then referred to the Rise n Fly TC D&R Committee.  The D&R Committee will then investigate the matter and come to a determination as to what, if any, additional sanctions are required. These may include but are not limited to a warning, suspension, probation, and /or dismissal from the Club.

The Discipline and Review procedures will be addressed by the D&R Committee. These

procedures will be in accordance with all state and/or local guidelines for participation,

promoting the mission and values of the Rise n Fly Track Club.  In all cases, the decisions

of the D&R Committee are final and not subject to appeal.

Track Meet Tips

Please keep the following in mind for all track meets.

How to be comfortable at a track meet.

Track meets are all day events. Be sure tobring items to  keep comfortable. We suggest homework, magazines, newspaper, books, portable games, MP3/CD players and

radios to help pass the time. Pack a cooler with late breakfast snacks and

lunch type foods. Include fruit, sandwiches, favorite foods, snacks, water, and sports

drinks. Please DO NOT give the athletes soda; we do not want them to be

dehydrated. Remember the hand sanitizer, trash bags, napkins, paper plates and plastic ware. Use sunscreen and wear hats or visors. (You may want to bring an umbrella along.)

Don’t forget cash, in case there’s something you want from the concession stand.

The weather in the early season is unpredictable. Consider bringing jackets,

light blankets, or even hot drinks for the morning. If you have small stadium chairs

bring them along too.

Remember to bring your camera, so you can capture the moment.

Things you need to know. Competition in the running and field events are conducted at the same time. Athletes need to listen for their event to be announced. Coaches will instruct athletes on the field check in procedures. If an event is missed, it cannot be made up. Athletes are limited to 3 or 4 events based on their birth year/division.

Events are conducted in the order listed on the track meet information flyer. We

cannot give you an exact time of when your events will start.

If parents have an occasion to leave the track meet, please partner with another

parent to watch your child. Try not to crowd the finish line, and please

do not stand at the railing for prolonged periods of time.

Be sure to take your athlete to the restroom before their scheduled event, especially if they are young.

All campuses request NO sunflower seeds in the stadium (and of course no smoking).

Parents should not be on the field or track. Coaches and staff are allowed limited time,

but they may not coach while on the field.
